Raised with a Belizean Background, Genasis was born "Odis Flores" in Los Angeles, CA. With two parents who believed in higher education, Genasis was expected to take a different route in life; Such as being a college graduate and following in his mother's footsteps. Living in Los Angeles Ca, Genasis started to hang with thugs and Later became attached to the streets. Not knowing what to do, his parents tried to stop him before he took the wrong path. At age 16, Genasis got into trouble with the law and that lead to his incarceration. Being detained is where Genasis found his True love for music." I rapped all night long, the time just made my flow even more thought= provoking” Genasis says. He was later released and came to the realization that music may just be his big break. Genasis started recording at local studios in the neighborhood. Genasis did show after show. He was soon introduced to Atlanta's producer "Krunk", who was a very good friend to Genasis. Genasis then began doing shows in Atlanta, Georgia where he discovered a new style for himself; A West Coast delivery with a little dirty Southern twist. Nobody rapped like him and they wanted to know where he came from. Genasis’ family is Christian so he thought that the name Genasis was appropriate, as it stems from “Genesis” in the bible, which means the beginning. Genasis appeared in one of the issues of Atl's “Street talk” Magazine. He performs from places like “Sugarhill” in Atlanta, GA to Hollywood’s International celebrity Center, where he was awarded the 2007/2008 "Entertainer of the Year".
