About Me:
Thumbz Up was born October 11th in Barnes Hospital St. Louis, Missouri. Raised on the 4400 block of Newstead while being the only child of a single mother, the young star had to grow up faster than the average teen. Instead of hanging out after high school, he would hustle to help pay the bills. Determined to escape the troubles of his "North St.Louis" neighborhood after losing some of his close friends to homicides, drugs and jail charges, his love for music grew at an early age as he participated in many public school talent shows and competitions. As a result to winning he was instantly crowned with the nickname “Thumbs Up.” At the age of eighteen, he had already began recording his first project with an independent production company. The young star has been writing, recording and performing since the age of sixteen. While putting in a few years of hard work, Thumbz Up has worked with many well known artists and producers as well. He has shared the stage with headline acts such as Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Plies, Jim Jones, Rich Boy and Bone Thugs N Harmony. He has been featured on a number of mixtapes that were released in various cities including Miami and Los Angeles. In 2004, he performed in the ‘04 Midwest Car Show which was sponsored and aired by local television station WRBU TV 46 (UPN). Since then the up and coming artist has appeared and performed at the CORE DJ’S Hip Hop Conference, the Urban Network Summit and in May 2008 he made a live appearence at the NOPI Car Show. With a buzz in a few cities, Thumbz Up has continued to remain consistent as he follows in the footsteps of the platinum selling mid-west artists before him. With the release of his Derrty DJ’s mixtape “NEED I SAY MORE” and his upcoming project "FAILURE 2 COMMUNICATE" the future phenom is planning to expand his audience and build a fan base in different regions across the country. With an undeniable hunger, a melodic voice and charming charisma, Thumbz Up makes hits for the Billboard charts while satisfying the streets at the same time. As momentum picks up, the young star looks forward to success as he makes a promise to hip hop fans that the best is yet to come!...
