Soulja Boy v. Ice-T

dmn, now this is a beef.


Ice-T came out and blamed Soulja Boy for “singlehandedly killing hip-hop” last week. Soulja Boy, in reply, described Ice-T as “old ass”.


At UrbMob we’re torn.


Walking around the office today everybody had a different opinion. From our young executives, there was definitely bias in favor of Soulja Boy. From guys who grew up with Ice-T, there was simply respect.


Here’s how I see it…


Coco has been an exclusive UrbMob model for the past two years. Ice has been a friend to the organization since the beginning. This is Mr. OG, Soulja Boy is beefing with here. Ice-T has earned the right to tell anyone, anytime, what he thinks of their music. I think the kid should be careful who he’s messing with.


At the same time, what Soulja Boy did with Tell ‘Em is what every MC on this website should be trying to do. He hustled, he used technology to spread his influence. At UrbMob we constantly use his story as an example to young ‘uns trying to break into the biz.


I think the two of them should settle this like gunslingers. I challenge DJ’s out there to post some beats (send ‘em to ar@urbmob.com). We’ll send them to Ice and Soulja Boy. Challenge them to battle. Let the best MC win.


Personally, I’m throwing my sht in with Ice-T.

I would like to comment on the beef but I won't. Instead, I'd like to say again, like I tell people all the time-Hip-Hop aint dead, will never die, can't die, won't die, refuse to die-it just evolves! "OMG I THINK I'M HAVING A RAP ATTACK"

"FROM THE MOUTHS OF BABES" I like soldier boy, nah mean. He was in the house, with his family, not on the streets, doin' his thing. Made mad loot! Didn't stick-up the liquor store or the gas station, nah, he was playing on his computer. I like MY story! He's a product of the world today. NO CRIMINAL RECORD! Home Alone! Nah mean, broke barriers kid. I'm proud of him. Cats hating on modern technology are fallen back. Get wit it, ya dig? If he wants to be Superman, let him alone, he's a kid! Hip-Hop is inovated by this youngsta nah mean. A milestone for us to acknowledge of tha fact dun. Do you know how many parents are purchasing RAP music for their kids because of him and Lil' Mama? What parent is gonna buy Ice-T or Da ButchKidMC for their kids to listen to? No disrespect. I respect H-H and what it reps & stands for. Open ya eyes people, we're n a new age n time. I stay ahead of the youth to track their goings n comings. Aint no kid ever gonna beat me for a $ nah mean. Soldier boy, you MY hero! Soldiers in Iraq n Afgan are feeling a strong vibration of the youths of America. To call yaself a SOLDIER is a gift to us today. Holla@Me and I'll break the word down 4 U.
